Wafters were first introduced by Sonubaits 2014 in smaller sizes to attract match anglers. Since then, the flavors and colors have changed but the principle remains the same: a wafter should float, but sink slowly with the weight of a hook attached. This balances the wafter and makes it float. If it sinks without the weight of the hook, it is not a wafter, but a normal sinking bait that does not function as a wafter. Always check your wafter in a tub of water before using it.Band'um Wafters is a bait that has a buoyancy between a bottom bait and a pop up, designed to counteract the weight of the hook.Perfect for use with a Method Feeder, the Band'um Wafter sits right on top of the pile of pellets or bottom bait on the Method Feeder, which means that when a fish feeds, the Band'um Wafter is thrown into the fish's mouth, resulting in more and faster bites.A Band'um is the perfect bait to use with a Bait Band, its unique cylindrical shape with bulbous ends means they can be banded with ease using a Pellet Bander or Bait Bander and the Bait Band sits neatly in the thinner middle section of the Band'um, meaning the hook sits perfectly just below the middle of the bait meaning more fish hooked. A Band'um Wafter is also an ideal bait for use with a pellet waggler, because it sinks more slowly than a standard bait, the Band'um Wafter spends more time in the feeding zone than a standard bottom bait, giving carp more opportunity to take it.Because the buoyancy of the Band'um Wafter is offset by the weight of the hook and strip, you'll need to find the right hook for your presentation, generally between a 12 and a 16 is the right size to balance the Band'um Wafter but it will depend on the hook pattern used.
