The new Long Chuck main line was designed specifically for long distance fishing and will add extra yards to your cast over a standard mono. It has very little stretch to allow for more rapide compression of the rod blank, and with its very low water absorption, it's also useful when you're trying to get the lead down at distance or in a crosswind. This low water absorption also allows the line to stay light and stay in the air longer, which helps reduce lead drag during flight, but the most important factor in achieving this is the fact that the line is clear - adding dye to a mono line increases the weight, while changing the molecular structure and creating more stretch, which means that dyed lines won't cast as far. Long Chuck also features a high ratio of breaking strain to diameter, which significantly reduces drag and line weight, compared to an equivalent breaking strain - 10 lbs is 0.27 mm; 12 lbs is 0.30 mm; 15 lbs is 0.33 mm; and 20 lbs is 0.40 mm. It is supplied on 1,000-meter spools.
