In the UK, massive catches have been made in commercial fisheries. Best used in the margins, it combines the powerful attraction of krill with the mixture of ingredients that keeps the fish swimming.
Krill baits are part of a wider range including hook baits, pellets, pastes and feed liquids, all of which can be used alone or in combination with other baits.
Michael Buckwalder (Irish International) states that "Krill goundbait is the best on the market. Its blend of dried krill and fishmeal pellets makes it a very distinctive groundbait, ideal for commercial fishing and natural sites".
MIXING GUIDELINES
Krill is simple to mix. Empty the 2 kg bag of bait into a round mixing bucket, fill a tray with larvae, pour this over the bait and mix well, then leave to stand for 30 minutes. During this time the water will be absorbed by the bait . Then, for best results .To remove lumps and create a uniform consistency, pass the primer through a riddle and you are ready to use it.
When fishing, the sun and wind may dry the bait slightly, but to combat this, you can cover the mixed bait with a damp towel or, if it dries, add a little water and mix again.
