Margin Carp - 2kg (S0770005)A mix for catching big fish on the bank. We all know that a match can be won or lost in the last hour, as often the bigger fish will move to the edge and start feeding with confidence, so it is important to have the right bait to feed the edge. The problem with many of the baits that people use to catch carp in the margins is that they are too light and do not contain enough food to keep the fish feeding. Often when the carp get to the margins, they stir up the bottom while feeding and as soon as they are hooked, all the bait that brought them to the margin is washed away by the hooked fish. For this reason, we have created a groundbait that not only attracts carp to the margins, but also keeps them there, because even if the fish lifts the groundbait, the majority of it falls back into the same area rather than being carried away.We have created this groundbait using heavy ingredients that we have ground into small particles, which means that once you add water, they absorb it and become heavy. So when a fish lifts the bait, the weight of the particle size brings it to the bottom very quickly, allowing the rest of the fish to feed in the margins.Andy Power (Commercial Specialist) says "I use a lot of it when the bigger carp are caught in the margins, I mix it up as soon as I get to my station to make sure the particles are as heavy as they can be, when I feel the time is right I put a little bit in loose to get the fish that are there out without spooking them and then I put a lot in for when the fish come back and start to feed, it's the best mix to use when fishing for carp in the margins." Empty the 2kg bag of groundbait into a round bucket, fill a 2 quart maggot pan with water, pour it over the groundbait and mix well, then leave for 30 minutes, during this time the water will be absorbed by the groundbait. When fishing, the sun and wind can dry out the groundbait a bit, to combat this you can cover the mixed groundbait with a wet towel or if it dries out, just add a little more water and mix again.
